The Old Kent Barn Wedding with Pete and Lauren. What a fantastic venue to photograph at for a Kent wedding photographer.
This is just a small snippet of their day.
The Old Kent Barn in Swingfield near Folkestone in Kent is a fantastic venue, it has beautifully stocked gardens with plenty of structures and greenery making a wonderful backdrop for the photos. The recently built additional barn is stunning with lovely high ceilings which gives a light airy feel and the majestic light fittings are quite incredible! They reminded me of upside down Jellyfish.
We arrived at The Old Kent Barn to a cold and slightly wet day but with the promise of brightening later. Lauren was getting ready with her bridesmaids and family in a room above the main barn. There was plenty of excitement and the girls had fun looking out of the small window at the guests arriving. The Boys were in the other barn and having a bit trouble fixing their corsages but James was on hand to lend a hand, Pete was looking slightly nervous but excited to tie the knot.
The Old Kent Barn has a pretty gazebo with a covered area for the guests if the weather is a bit iffy. Pete and Lauren really wanted to have their service here, so we were pleased when the weather brightened enough for them to all venture outside. The couple had a small intimate wedding with close friends and family but this didn’t stop the staff pulling out all the stops to make their day special. Obviously we have photographed a lot of weddings and seen hundreds of venues and can can honestly say The Old Kent Barn is a real pleasure to be at.
We stayed until the first dance , before then the happy couple braved the cold while we captured a few dramatic lighting shots under the twinkly lights, the icing on the cake.
