Gemma and Mitch-Strand House Wedding-Rye|Wedding Photography in Rye

Here’s another Strand House wedding for Debbie Sanderson Wedding Photography, the location is Winchelsea near Rye and is becoming a regular for us. We shoot a lot of wedding photography in Rye and this is one of our favourite venues, it really is the perfect venue for a small intimate wedding. The building itself is a 15th century house full of quirky rooms, individually decorated with different styles, it even offers an outside cottage where the bride can get ready in peace away from the hustle and bustle of the main house and of course those noisy guests who would love to have a sneak peak at the bride! Mary and Hugh the dedicated owners and hosts will bend over backwards to make your day as special as it can be and running a wedding is something they excel at and the food is yummy and luckily for us they like to recommend us to prospective couples in need of photography.

So it was that Gemma and Mitch chose us to shoot their Christmas wedding and came to our house for a consultation with their parents, it was at this point that we realised that Gemma’s mother had actually taught my daughter in her infants years at primary school…what a small world. In fact my daughter Lauren, of  ‘Lauren Louise Professional Hair and Make-Up, did Gemma’s hair on the day so we were all quite familiar and it set the mood for a very relaxed atmosphere.

We captured some natural shots of Gemma and the guests getting ready and then took a couple of portrait shots of Gemma. She was a little shy about having this done but is over the moon with the outcome. I love the slightly posed shots of her on the stairs, I think she looks like a Hollywood movie star! The service was very intimate with close friends and family but had a lovely feeling with the christmas decorations. Afterwards we took some family group shots in the grounds and then some of the happy couple and the umbrella. We shot a mock cake cut and some images of the reception room and then left the couple to enjoy their evening.
