What a wonderful day we had with Joe and Fran at The Sussex Barn in Hellingly. We knew it was going to be fun as we had photographed their friends wedding the year before and had a blast!
Fran was really relaxed when we joined her at a beautiful Oasthouse a little way from Sussex Barn. Her Mum, Sister and good friend were with her, they were all wonderfully chilled out but very excited the big day had come. Her Dad was busy getting the cars ready for their very important trip to St Peter and St Paul church in Hellingly where the couple were to exchange their vows.
Joe was outside the church when we arrived talking with guests, family and best men. He couldn’t choose the one so had two for good measure…lol. I love his face as Fran begins to walk up the aisle, no turning back now Joe!
Fran just couldn’t contain her excitement and punched the air as they finished with the official part of the service and were finally married. They exited the church to a waterfall of confetti, I think the guests may have enjoyed throwing it a little too much.
The couple travelled to Sussex Barn in Joe’s Grandad’s old Mercedes that Joe has lovingly restored. He had expressed the wish that it could be in a few of the couple shots with them, your wish is our command Joe.
As to be expected the group shots were great fun, they really reflect the mood of the day. We wanted to get the romantic photo’s done quickly as the weather was taking a turn for the worse. We got some stunning pictures in the field opposite the Sussex Barn and got creative with a confetti. We’d just finished shooting the car shoots when the heavens opened and James had to save Fran from a very bad hair day. Love the photo of them running into the barn.
The reception was lively and packed with fun speeches, games, bingo and the live band ,’The Cavaliers’ who were perfect and got the whole crowd dancing. It was a full on day for us but we loved every minute!
