We had the honour to photograph this wonderful couples wedding at this stunning venue in East Sussex, Horsted Place Hotel. This Victorian Country House was built in the mid 19th Century in the gothic style so popular at the time. It exudes grandeur and fine taste, always a pleasure to shoot at it’s facilities are excellently suited to those who require that little bit extra quality from their wedding venue. The staff are most professional and the food is excellent! From a Wedding photographers point of view I can say with certainty that it offers settings and back drops a plenty and there is never a shortage of great quality photos whatever the weather.
Steve and Sarah were a great looking couple who required unobtrusive photography and were very keen for us to capture the real spirit of the day in reportage style photographs. Initially they were a little shy at the thought of posing but on the day they proved to be the perfect models and with a little friendly encouragement from us they relaxed and really enjoyed the experience of having two photographers working for them.
We arrived at Horsted Place on a very gloomy morning, unfortunately the forecast for the day wasn’t good, although this can be disappointing we were determined to get the best pictures we could. We had fun with both Sarah and Steve while they were getting ready and the wedding party were all up for a laugh which makes our job very enjoyable.
As it was an autumnal wedding the couple had chosen complimentary colours for their theme, with oranges and peaches it all looked pretty as a picture. The weather kept us guessing right up until the last minute with a down pour during the Service but almost immediately afterwards the sun broke through and stayed shining long enough for us to get all the group shots, some fun wedding party images and the stunning couple shots in the grounds.
We were very pleased with the results and the feedback from Steve and Sarah was excellent. With the light failing early evening we were also able to get one of our special sparkler shots and the backdrop of the house with it’s lights on really added to the overall ‘wow’ effect.
We drove home after the first dance feeling happy in the knowledge that we and done all we could to capture this perfect day at Horsted Place.
