Steph and Sam booked us after seeing another couples photo’s on our photography page on Facebook. This always makes me happy as it shows that social media is a great way of showing your work and letting people know that you are there.
We were delighted that they had chose Bannatynes in Hastings as their venue, as we hadn’t shot a wedding there before and have a few more coming up. Of course this a great local venue to us and as an East Sussex Wedding photographer I’m sure we will get to know it well.
We had a consultation at Bannatynes with Sam and steph to see the rooms they would be using and also to view the beautiful gardens and get some ideas for the romantic shots we would take of the couple. It didn’t disappoint , with a lovely Italian inspired sunken garden and path ways trimmed with beautiful blue Hydrangea bushes it is pretty as a picture. Another lovely little surprise was that in the room Sam was getting ready in, there was a rather nice bath. Of course if there is a a bath to hand the Bride has to go in it. Sam was a great sport and loved the idea of having a picture in there. I must admit I’m very pleased with the outcome. We used our Lowel ID light to light her which always gives a dramatic effect.
Sam and Steph had planned to have their service in the gardens but the weather forecast was awful, predicting thunder storms and heavy rain. Of course this being England none of that happened and the weather was glorious. But by this time the couple had decided to take the service indoors which was still beautiful, the room had a lovely back drop of big airy windows overlooking the gardens so not too much of a hardship.
After the service and the group shots we took the couple off around the garden. They had told us prior to the wedding that they we keen to get a lot of photo’s, which is great for us and lets us have a free rain to get the best images possible. They were a great couple to work with, very relaxed and enjoying the whole experience . As you can see from the photo’s here they have a lot to choose from for their album which I think will make a lovely keepsake.
