Richard and Jill contacted us a couple of months before their wedding after seeing some children’s portraits I had added to Facebook . The couple are local to Rye and were getting married in Rye Town Hall with their reception at Udimore a little village just outside of Rye. We have shot a few times at the town hall now and it’s always fun with the town crier introducing the bride and groom this always draws the crowds.
When we met Richard for a consultation he said they wanted a very natural, documentary style to their photography with very little fuss. They have two beautiful children and they knew they were going to be a big part of the day. Their Son was even the best man and their little girl being real Daddy’s girl was going to want to be with Richard and Jill through out the service. All in all a real family affair. It was really refreshing to see a couple so relaxed and embracing all that was going on around them and having fun with it.
Although this seemed a relaxed wedding there had still been an awful lot of preparation before hand to make the day beautiful. Richard himself had made a lot of the decorations with a bright cheerful peacock feather theme and a slight orange, blue and yellow colour scheme. I loved it that the bridesmaids all had different style dresses on and had chosen styles that suited them best.
At the reception we took a few group shots, having particular fun with the bridesmaids and Jill in some quirky shots. We then took the happy over to the pond to capture a few romantic images. I think they enjoyed this, having a little bit of time out just for them away from everyone and the children for a while. They are obviously made for each other and very happy together. I think it shows in these lovely pictures. Something for them to treasure forever.
