Piers and Hilary chose a real country wedding for their big day! The couple live in Wimbledon but Pier’s family are from Rye. They selected us to shoot their wedding as we are the local Rye wedding photographer. The service was held in the beautiful little church St Peter and St Paul at Peasmarsh . They then went on to hold their reception in a grand marque in the stunning East Sussex countryside . They were very lucky the day was beautiful and sunny, otherwise things could have got a little muddy.
Hilary got ready in a local cottage with her parents and bridesmaids. We captured the girls having their hair and make up done and of course the odd glass of bubbly on the way. Hilary had chosen lovely natural flowers which really suited the setting and she really looked stunning in her Swarovski Crystal covered gown. To take the girls and Father of the Bride to the church was a fun VW camper van , which I must admit is handy to fit all those big dresses in! Piers however had turned up in a very smart Bentley.
During the service we weren’t allowed to use flash photography which we were a little worried about as it was a dark church but I’m pleased to say the photo’s are great, in fact it gives a more natural look. After the service we took the formal group shots and then took the couple into a field to the side of the church for some romantic photos. It was then off to the reception where there was all manner of fun laid on, including wellie boot throwing which provided great entertainment. The couple wanted live music throughout the evening and had hired two bands, the first dressed very brightly and serenaded the guests as they enjoyed drinks and canapés . This provided us with some great images, and was fun to watch, the other band entertained the evening guests and when we left half an our after the first dance the party was in full swing!
