We were over the moon when Phil and Jen contacted us about photographing their wedding at Upwaltham Barns near Chichester in Sussex. This venue is fast becoming a regular for us, although it’s a fair trip from Rye we don’t mind as it’s always a great day!
The run up to the wedding the weather had been truly awful and I pity the couples that got married the week before, torrential rain doesn’t cover it. Luckily for us we had no such problem on Phil and Jen’s big day with the skies blue to start but looking a bit threatening as the day went on, but we got away with it…phew.
We arrived to meet the bride and her maids in the middle of getting ready, although they were excited there was a relaxed feel giving us time to capture some natural shots. Jen had opted for a red theme and had some amazing red shoes which looked great against her elegant dress and of course the pretty bridesmaid’s dresses.
Guests were fast arriving and the girls couldn’t resist a sneaky peek over the banisters to see what was happening, getting very excited when Phil and the boys turned up. Phil is very much into cars and had a very sweet fiat 5oo deckedout with some wedding bunting, which of course had to feature in one of their photos later on.
A very proud Dad walked Jen through the gardens to the service where the couple exchanged their vows in front of friends and family, afterwards coming out to a barrage of confetti, these are great images but it’s hard to see the couple through all the confetti.
After the group shots and some fun shots of the wedding party, (I particually like the jumping shot), we didn’t have enough time to get the couples romantic shots so we captured these after the meal . The lighting was failing a bit so we used a bit of off camera flash to get some different effects.
We stayed until the first dance then left to leave everyone to dance the night away.
