Matt and Lucy contacted us a few weeks before their wedding, as unfortunately for them the photographer they had booked a year or so in advance of their wedding let them down. Luckily for us the date was free and we really looked forward to it as we loved shooting the previous wedding at St Georges Church in Brede .This last wedding happened to be for the Groom’s brother, so we already felt like we knew a few people.
The reception was to be held at Swallows Oast in Ticehurst, it proved to be a great venue for East Sussex Wedding Photography. We visited the venue before the wedding and scouted out the best places for photo opportunities .There are plenty of them with a beautiful pond and meadow and some pretty woods, although I was sad the bluebells had been so early this year as that would have made a great backdrop.
Matt and Lucy like a lot of couples were nervous about having their photos taken. Matt was very shy of the camera before the wedding so we just took some reportage shots of him with the guests arriving. After the relief of the church service being over they soon relaxed and we captured some stunning shots ot them overlooking the Brede Valley and of course that all important confetti shot. Then it was off to the reception where we took the traditional group shots. The time went so quickly that we were only left with fifteen minutes to get the couples romantic pictures. We hot footed it to the pond as it was so pretty, then onto the meadow and a few back in the woods. Although we only had this short time we are delighted with the results.
The Swallows Oast barn its self is delightful and had been decorated very tastetfully with vintage type crockery and flowers. The couple only wanted us up until the speeches and cake cut after which we left very happy that we had had a good day and captured some great memories for them.
