We are always excited when we are asked to shoot a wedding at Saltcote Place. It really is a great location for a Rye wedding photographer. Less than a mile from our home and run by a couple of chaps who we now consider as friends. It is a delightful Edwardian Manor House whose beautiful acres overlook New Romney and Rye all the way to the Sea.
Matt and Eva have family locally and Saltcote Place was top of their list of desired venues when it came to planning their big day. Luckily for us we were also top of the list when it came to choosing Wedding Photographers. At the consultation we were able to talk with authority about Saltcote and how things work there and reassured Matt and Eva that we would be totally at home shooting at this great venue. Like many of our couples Matt and Eva were after the natural, documentary type photography that we specialise in and hopefully this will be apparent in the lovely photos we captured.
On the day there was charming, relaxed atmosphere and Paul and Alan (Saltcote Place’s owners) were on top form as the perfect hosts with everything running like a well oiled machine. Because of our great working relationship with them we were able to slot right into place which made getting the photos all the more easier for the couple and their guests as we knew where to go and when to get the best shots without getting in the way of the proceedings. The Bride and Groom had stressed that they weren’t confident in front of the camera but once we got shooting they started having a great time and were obviously feeling very relaxed. They needed little guidance from us and many of the ‘posed’ shots actually weren’t all that posed at all!
A great day was had by all and once again we loved the job we do thanks to the great guests, hosts and stunning location that is Saltcote Place!
