Jon and Jen came to meet us just a few months before their wedding for a consultation. They expressed a wish that they didn’t want too much intrusion from a photographer on the big day. So as we specialise in reportage wedding photography or documentary style if you like, I guess we were perfect for the job.
The couple had booked The Gallivant at Camber Sands near Rye in East Sussex for both the service and reception. This is becoming a regular venue for us now and is literally a couple of miles from where we live. It’s a great venue with a shabby chic beach theme throughout and of course the sandy beach just over the road which is a great location for wedding photography , including the group shots and the all important romantic pictures of the Bride and Groom!
We were there to cover the prep shots right through to the first dance. Jen was a little nervous while getting ready so they really are all reportage shots. The wedding party were a jolly lot and we got some great fun shots with them just before the service. After the service and the confetti shot the whole congregation walked over the the beach. Although we were lucky it didn’t rain it was rather breezy, so we had to work quickly as it wasn’t a day for standing around. Jen and Jon and asked particularly for the heart group shot which we think came out quite well. You can always ask us ‘Debbie Sanderson Wedding Photography’, if you have a particular idea that you would like, we welcome your input.
When it came to the speeches it was lovely to see that a few people decided to get up and say a short sentence or two about the couple, which made a nice change from the long drawn out speeches you sometimes get. I think short and sweet is the way to go!
We stayed for half and our after the fist dance and captured everyone shaking the stuff on the dance floor before leaving them to dance the night away.
