What a lovely local wedding this was in the picturesque St Mary the Virgin – Stone in Oxney Church to the east of Rye town. Set in wonderful countryside on a hill it really is the quintessential setting for an english wedding. Gina and Neal are a lovely young couple obviously very much in love and this wedding was to be a small affair with family and close friends. This didn’t however mean that they hadn’t put in loads of effort to make it the perfect day, from the flowers and the volkwagan camper van to the decorated church and the village hall in Egerton where they were to hold the reception, it all looked very pretty.
We started the day at Gina’s parents farm house just a stones throw away from the church. She was accompanied by three bridesmaids, and various family members. All was very calm and the girls got in there dresses with time to spare. We captured some lovely portrait shots of Gina, she real was a delight to photograph, with a beaming smile and happy disposition it made our job easy.
At the church Neal was nervously waiting, always a tense time for the groom but when Gina walked down the aisle they soon went. It was a lovely service and afterwards we had to rattle the group shots off quickly as the skies were darkening around us. In fact on the way to the reception it literally poured down and we had fears that wouldn’t be able to get the couple out for some romantic shots but never fear after the meal the skies brightened the sun came out. We took them of a quick tour of the grounds around the hall, Gina and Neal were naturals in front of the camera and I love these happy images we captured of them. We stayed until the first dance and let them all enjoying the evening.
