Ed and Emmajo chose to get married in Ed’s local church in West Malling. They were then to have their reception at the beautiful Port Lympne mansion.
The Mansion was originally commissioned by Sir Philip Sassoon as a private estate and holiday retreat for the rich and famous. The estate has been enjoyed and admired over the years by royalty, heads of state and movie stars. Today the dramatically decorated rooms, polished floors, high ceilings and intricate details, provide the perfect backdrop for any event. The Mansion Hotel can be hired in its entirety so that brides and grooms can enjoy their wedding, their way, in their Mansion, or as an incredible party venue. It has four intriguing reception rooms and 15 acres of perfectly landscaped gardens, set against a stunning backdrop of far reaching views over the reserve to the coast line beyond.
This wedding was exciting for us as it was the first military wedding we have shot, although the couple wanted understated photography it was still fun to see the men in their uniforms. After taking the prep shots and covering the service we arrived at the mansion in time to take some romantic photography of the happy couple in the stunning grounds, including a lovely wooded walkway. The couple wanted to go on a drive through safari with all their guests so we didn’t get much time to do the group shots but we managed to get the main ones. Unfortunately by the time we went on the safari is was getting dark so the animals we in bed, so we missed a great opportunity to get some fab wildlife photos. Although the mansion itself more than made up for it with it’s amazing painting rooms and stunning architecture . We shot some lovely pictures of the couple with the back drop of these wildlife painted rooms.
