Dave and Maz contacted us about photographing their wedding at our local church St Micheals in Playden, which is a gorgeous village church. The present building was constructed about 1190, and its spire is a landmark overlooking the Rye and Romney Marsh. The church is built of stone, has a tiled roof and an attractive cedar shingled spire, which is topped by a lead cross. The couple were then taking their reception to The Ship Inn in Winchelsea which is a quirky restaurant with a vibrant nautical theme, which is situated a mile from the beach and overlooks lovely countywide . It offers lovely gardens again with the nautical feel running through. I think this gave Maz her inspiration for the yellow and blue theme that she carried throughout the day.
Maz was naturally nervous before her big day and was worried that the photos would look stuffy and too posed, she was keen for them to look natural and fun. We assured her that all would be fine and not to worry. Another worry was the weather but luckily the sun shone with stunning blue skies.
We started with the prep shots getting some lovely pictures in a friends garden with all the girls, I particularly like the log pile backdrop. Then Maz arrived in style in a beautiful light blue Jaguar, I think her beaming face shows how happy she was that her big day had finally come. Dave seemed very relaxed and was waiting for Maz with their gorgeous little boy who looked very smart in his outfit.
We weren’t allowed to take pictures of the service but managed to capture a couple of sneaky ones for the album anyway. After the group shots and some romantic and fun ones of the couple if was to The Ship Inn for the reception and let the fun begin. The guests enjoyed the garden before sitting down for their meal, followed by some fun speeches and of course the first dance. We had a lovely day and I know the couple are delighted with the photos which makes us very happy photographers.
