Rye is a beautiful town at the best of times but at Christmas it shines, with all the shops lit up with interesting decorations and the streets adorned with twinkly lights it’s quite the picture. Lyndsey and Chris chose ‘The George‘ for their reception and the colourful ‘Rye Town Hall’ for the service. Both fabulous settings for this Christmas wedding.
We started the day with Lyndsey and the girls getting ready at The George, there was an excited but relaxed feel in the room, it was lovely to capture these special moments with these lovely ladies . Lyndsey had gone for a beautiful vintage feel gown with a slight sparkle to echo the christmas theme, her hair had a undone look and with natural looking makeup she looked stunning.
James joined the boys at The Ypres Castle Inn, locals pronounce it as the Vipers. It looked like they had some fun with a canon in the castle gardens…lol. At Rye Town Hall the Town Crier was waiting to great the guests and the couples arrival. This service really adds to the whole feel of the day, especially when he does his oh yay bit, it never fails to get the attention of the crowd and is a real highlight in the couples day.
The service when smoothly, one of my favourite moments was Lyndsey getting the giggles at Chris’s middle name, I won’t divulge as to what it is, ha ha.
As the couple got married so late in the day and the light fading quickly we decided to do the couple shots a little later on and take full advantage of the amazing Christmas lights in and around ‘The George’, making use of reflections in the windows and the view into the George itself. It’s great when we can get a little creative and come up with something new.
