We first met Chris and Jackie at ‘ The White Rock Theatre‘ wedding fair last year. After speaking to us and explaining that their wedding was to be held on valentines day at Bannatynes in Hastings I was hoping that they would decide to book with us but Jackie explained that she was going to another fair to first before she made a decision. So I was delighted when a few weeks later we received a phone to ask us to photograph their big day.
We have shot a few beautiful weddings at Bannatynes now and know it well but never in the winter months when the garden isn’t in full bloom, so we knew we had to come up with some new ideas for this wedding and of course it starts to dark around 4pm. The service was to be held at 2pm, we arrived at 11.30am to capture the bride prep shots. Grace Benson was doing the make-up for Jackie, we’ve met Grace a couple of times now and she’s easy to work with and great at her job. Jackie as you can she was a beautiful bride and we were keen to get some portrait shots. As usual time ran out very quickly so we had a 5 minute window to get these images but I’m really pleased with the results, especially the one of the back her dress in front of the window.
I also love the images that James captured of Jackie walking down the stairs and the look on her mum and little girls face, very sweet. It was then time for the service, Jackie had four bridesmaids, two flower girls and two pages boys, all performed beautifully, well until they’d had a drink or two…lol. Chris was waiting with his two best men and looked very proud as Jackie walked down the aisle. The service was held in the Quebec room and was great for a smaller wedding.
After the service we took the official group shots and a few romantic pictures of the bride and groom outside the The Montgomerie Suite where the reception was to be held. We knew that after the speeches we wanted to whisk the happy couple away again for some night time shots using various lighting methods, I love the results and we’ve had some great feed back about these pictures . We stayed for the first dance and captured the guests having fun with the props for the photo booth.
