This was a winter wedding so we knew there was a possibility that is could be raining and we would be fighting the fading light as the couple got married quite late in the day. Unfortunately our fears came true, but this wasn’t going to put us off, we would get some stunning images what ever!
We started our day at Hotel Du Vin in Tunbridge wells to capture Asyhe and her bridesmaids getting ready, this is always a fun part of the day and all the girls were very relaxed.
Then it was off to a rainy High Rocks where all the guests were eagerly awaiting the brides arrival. Asyhe is from Turkish decent so the family connections were quite large, which made for some fun colourful pictures. The service was very traditional and Asyhe and her bridesmaids dressed in blue and the little ones in white made a pretty picture.
Luckily after the service we had a small window of opportunity to go over the the rocks as it had stopped raining. So Ayshe armed with her beautiful hunter wellies and Chris eager to get some nice pictures ,practically ran up to the top of the rocks. I was a little worried that one of us would slip over but we all survived. I’m so pleased we did, although we didn’t have long as the light was fading, I love these images, we even used a bit of off camera flash to get some dramatic effects. We were very lucky as just as we got back the heavens opened with put an end to our group shots in the garden but never fear we got them in the venue later on.
We had great fun capturing the turkish traditions including a parade of the bridal party to drums, a first dance where the guests pin money to the couple, I think that’s a brilliant idea! We left the guests having a fabulous time dancing the night away.
