This was the first time we had photographed a wedding at this beautiful Venue and it didn’t disappoint .
The PowderMills Hotel in East Sussex is a beautiful Grade II listed building converted from a restored Georgian Country House in acres of landscaped gardens, lakes and woods within walking distance of the medieval town of Battle, the Abbey and the Battlefields of 1066.
Built in the 18th century as a Gunpowder Manufacturing Owner’s Residence, the property has seen many changes in its history, notable when it was restored and converted into the privately owned, charming Hotel it is today. The outside is enhanced by ancient wisteria and there are remains in the grounds of artifacts used for the manufacture of the gunpowder reputed to be the finest of their kind.
These days, of course, it has been converted into a much more scenic and welcoming site than a manufacturing one. It proved to be the ideal setting for Adam and Kim’s beautiful wedding. Kim’s preparation took place at her mum’s house in Hastings. Hair and make-up was done by Lauren Louise Hair and MakeUp artist, and it was just a short drive to venue from there. Guests were welcomed into the light and airy reception room prior to the wedding and then on up-to the lake side, rustic gazebo where the main service was held. There was ‘Jane Austyn’ feel to the building and gardens and it certainly felt like the quintessential English wedding even though the service was conducted beside the lake. It was a really romantic affair and you couldn’t have wished for better weather or guests! When it comes to needing the best Powdermills Hotel Wedding Photography we think we have cornered the market. Hopefully once you’ve looked through these great photographs you’ll agree! Once the service was over we were able to get some great fun group shots in the private garden. This was followed by a walk in the grounds with just the Bride and Groom which gave them a chance to relax with just each other while we managed to snap some beautifully natural shots of the two.
